First and foremost thing to know about Lotus Notes Migration is that, to get started with this conversion, two applications have to be installed onto the system on which the migration has to be carried out. These are Lotus Notes and MS Outlook. Before you plan to start with Notes to Outlook migration, get these two applications installed on your machine.

Setting up Lotus Notes on Your Machine
1. First download the trial version of Lotus Notes application, which can be easily obtained FREE of cost from IBM website.
2. Then go to Start > Programs > Lotus Applications > Lotus Notes
3. When you run Lotus Notes for the first time, Lotus Notes Client Configuration Wizard starts
4. By successively following the instructions and feeding the required information, configure Lotus Notes on your machine

Process of Configuring MS Outlook with POP3 Account: Nearly all systems, operating in a Windows environment, come loaded with Microsoft Outlook email client. To activate it and configure it with POP3, follow the following simple steps to set up MS Outlook email program:

1. Install MS Office on your machine
2. Open Outlook Program. Locate Outlook program. Go to Start and then find the Outlook icon in the pop-up menu. You might as well have an Outlook icon on the desktop. Click Outlook icon in any of these locations.
3. Configure Outlook with POP3 account settings

Locating NSF Files: By default the Lotus Notes NSF files are saved in the following location:
C:Program Fileslotusnotesdata

Installing & Using SysTools Export Notes Tool to Convert NSF to PST:
1. Go to Export Notes website (www.exportnotes.com)
2. Download FREE Demo Version of SysTools Export Notes software
3. Run SysTools Export Notes software on your machine
4. Browse the NSF file to be converted
5. Click the "Start Scan" button to start the scanning of NSF database
6. Preview Lotus Notes Items
7. Choose a location to save the new converted Outlook PST file
8. Click the "Export to Outlook" button for migration
9. Navigate the saving location selected during the process to open PST file (having all the email data of the NSF file that you selected)

10. To convert all your emails and all other Lotus Notes mailbox items from NSF file to Outlook, order online for a Full Version License of SysTools Export Notes software.
